We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincerest wishes for the safety of all the people affected by the recent Solomon Islands undersea earthquake.
Subsequent to the recent earthquake, Cosmo Oil Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Yaichi Kimura; Capital: 62.4 billion yen) has decided to implement provision of a disaster-relief donation to the government of the Solomon Islands as detailed below.

Our company established the Cosmo Oil Eco-card Fund, a private organization, in 2002. The Cosmo Oil Eco Card Fund is supported by donations from Cosmo the Card "Eco" cardholders and by donations from Cosmo Oil. The fund conducts "Living with Our Planet" projects, a series of contribution activities concerning the global environment, both at home and overseas.
Among such activities, the fund has been used for the implementation of the Tropical Rainforest Conservation Project in the Solomon Islands since 2002. With the goal of protecting tropical rainforests, this project supports the spread of recycling-oriented organic farming practices, and, hand in hand with our project partner, we have realized such achievements as the introduction of rice-polishing machines and the provision of opportunities for research into organic farming.
Although the project site (Fiu village, Malaita province) operated by the Eco Card Fund was not subject any major damage as the result of the recent earthquake, many areas did suffer extensive damage and Cosmo Oil has decided that it is our humanitarian duty to make a donation toward disaster relief.
We offer our ardent prayers for those who suffered damage and for an early recovery from the aftermath of this disaster.
