The Cosmo Oil Group has confronted various social problems behind environmental problems, including mass-consumption lifestyle, poverty, and human rights issues, in the course of our environmental preservation actions beyond the scope of our business. We have realized the necessity of social cooperation and collaboration to address ourselves to these problems that are intertwined complicatedly with each other.
To strengthen our will, we signed the Global Compact proposed by the United Nations in February 2006 so as to let our executives and employees become keenly aware of the promotion of CSR management.

- We make efforts to take any preventive measures if necessary in consideration of the environment, responding to our corporate plans of the new enterprise, development and distribution of our products, introduction of large-sized facilities, initiating the large-scale construction, and etc.
- To prevent environmental pollution caused by business activities, we throughly control the environmental impacts in each site, such as refining, distribution, and sales by the Consolidated Medium-Term Environmental Plan. (e.g. double-hull structure of SS tanks and tankers).
- Simultaneously, we proceed our activities to manage the environment throughly by means of environmental inspection and various kinds of management tools.
